Parish Groups

A group of dedicated parishioners have worked for over two years to write a plan for St Mary's Parish that is designed to be the blue print for future growth and development of the parish. The plan has taken into account all aspects of parish life and used as its inspiration the intention and spirit proclaimed in the Second Vatican Council documents.

A full copy of the plan is included plus a summary of the main points as a PowerPoint presentation.

St Mary's Parish Pastoral Council would appreciate feedback of any thoughts and comments from parishioners and interested parties to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Passionist Family Group Movement

Family Group Logo_small.jpgThe Passionist Family Group Movement was introduced to St Mary’s Parish, Wanganui in October 1988. We currently have four groups who meet every month for activities, which help to bind the groups and the parish together as a community. The co-ordinators group meets every six weeks and this enables us to support and encourage each other in our ministry.

The aims of the Passionist Family Group Movement are as follows:

To share our Christian life together.

To support each other in times of need and celebration.

To give example to, and involve our children in our Christian sharing.

To live and love like the early Christians – “ See how they love one another”.

To build and promote community spirit within the Parish.
